Our client was walking through the parking lot of a shopping center and tripped on a piece of metal protruding from the ground where someone had attempted to removed a disabled parking sign. At least an inch of the metal post remained, posing a danger to patrons.
Our client tripped and fell hard to the ground, injuring both knees. Though medical bills totaled less than $10,000 and no surgery was necessary in the immediate aftermath of the fall, our expert witness recommended that both knees eventually be replaced, one more urgently than the other. Though the property owner disputed both liability and the extent of the injury, we obtained a $337,500 settlement for the client.
