Teacher Ignored Student’s Broken Hip
While running in a park near his school while under school supervision, a student stepped in a hole hidden by grass and fell to the ground. Teachers and others around him dismissed the injury, telling him to relax and not to worry. Tests revealed his hip was fractured. He underwent surgery to implant hardware but this aggravated the injury. With liability in issue, we sued both the park and the school and recovered substantial compensation from both defendants.
